Treat each other with RESPECT!!! • We will be analyzing and discussing sensitive topics dealing with a wide array of human behaviors and emotions. • What is funny to you may be incredibly painful to the person next to you!!! • We will support each other!
Internal Assessment • undertake and report a replication of a simple experimental study. • 25% of your IB grade (SL) • 20% of your IB grade (HL) External assessment • Consists of two exams (they call them papers) • HL students must do a 3rd exam (paper) on research methods.
External Assessment Paper 1 • 2 hours • On the three levels of analysis. • Section A: Three compulsory questions (one from each level) • Section B: Three questions (you pick one) and answer in essay form. • 50% of IB grade (SL) • 35% of IB grade (HL) Paper 2 • 1 hour • Students given 15 questions on other topics in psychology. • SL students pick 1 and answer in essay form. • HL students pick 2. • 25% of IB grade (SL and HL)
Tests/Quizzes • Once every 1-2 weeks • All short answer and essay Homework • Two to three times a week Participation • Through in-class activities and structured discussion time. Midterm • Cumulative • Short answer and essay format.
