The Scottish House Condition Survey (SHCS) measures housing quality in Scotland, assessing over 3,000 occupied households annually through social and physical surveys, with 4,600 variables and outputs on fuel poverty and the Scottish Housing Quality Standard (SHQS). The survey provides national and local authority data on energy efficiency, domestic dwellings, and overcrowding, aiming to improve housing conditions and inform policy decisions related to building standards and energy efficiency initiatives.
