  4. Walk and Talk Healthy walks for everyone plus friendly conversation. Visiting sights of interest Building Relationships Exploring places of natural beauty

  5. The One Rhyl Book Club meets every month. Books are supplied by Rhyl Library and chosen by our members. Books read are discussed and debated by members.

  6. YOGA GROUP The Yoga Group meet twice a week. It is open to all age groups. Easy sessions for all. The group is well attended by both male and female.

  7. Streets Ahead Wales

  8. Streets Ahead Wales • Streets Ahead Wales is a joint initiative between One Rhyl and North Wales Police. • The concept is to encourage local residents to set up resident associations on their streets. • Streets Ahead Wales will promote this concept through advertising and use of the Step Up Bus. • Streets Ahead Wales will form a partnership board made up of both third sector organisations and the authorities. • Streets Ahead Wales will guide interested residents through the process of setting up a residents association. • The partnership board will provide the expertise to answer questions and solve any issues.

Streets Ahead Wales • Resident Associations include: • Informing residents of their rights and helping them tackle problems. • Putting pressure on landlords and local authorities to do repairs, maintenance or providing improvements. • Establishing good working relationships with housing providers and local authorities. • Help to keep residents informed of the issues affecting their area. • Help resolve disputes between residents. • Campaign on local issues. • Organise social, leisure and educational activities for their street. • Help promote street based activities such as good neighbour schemes and Neighbourhood Watch.

  10. Child Activity Project CAP has recently come under the umbrella of the One Rhyl Project and is a welcome addition to our organisation. CAP has been well established in West Rhyl for over eight years and provides services to local parents and children of pre school age. When the building they were operating from and the company managing their project went into administration, it was One Rhyl they turned to. CAP utilise the community area of the church and have been welcomed by the Parish.

  11. The Guitar Group The Guitar Group founded and led by Father Charles continues to bring together young people who share an interest in music and especially the guitar.

  12. Rhyl Youth Justice & Peace Group The Rhyl Youth Justice & Peace group was founded at the begging of 2013 by Amy Davies and Michael Richards. The group meets every other Sunday and like any other youth group they enjoy music, movies, games and generally socialising. However, they are more than just a youth club and as their title implies they work closely on issues that not only affect their community but issues that affect society all over the world. The group recently held a Fun Day to raise money for the “IF Campaign”. This campaign was to raise the idea of enough food for everyone and the campaign was active recently at the G8. Amy and Michael visited Parliament and CAFOD Headquarters in London recently. The group are also looking at forming an anti-poverty awareness project to inform and involve young people in seeking to help tackle poverty issues.

  13. Our Future One Rhyl Continues to grow and develop, with new projects being introduced. One Rhyl continues to work in partnership with all local third sector organisations and the authorities, to help build a better future for our community. One Rhyl continues to support local residents in challenging issues that they believe have a negative impact on their town and its inhabitants. One Rhyl is currently looking at the possibility of purchasing a property to develop into a community building. A building for the community and developed by the community.
