The 5 Pillars. By: Meghan McCumbers. SHAHADAH. The first pillar of faith is Shahadah, the profession (declarations) of faith. Salat. The second pillar of faith is Salat, daily ritual prayer. Zakat. The third pillar of faith is zakat, or almsgiving.(Giving to those in need). Siyam.

  2. SHAHADAH • The first pillar of faith is Shahadah, the profession (declarations) of faith.

  3. Salat • The second pillar of faith is Salat, daily ritual prayer.

  4. Zakat • The third pillar of faith is zakat, or almsgiving.(Giving to those in need)

  5. Siyam • The fourth pillar of faith is Siyam, or fasting (Going without food).

  6. Hajj • The fifth pillar of faith is Hajj, the pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah (Mecca).
