  3. The Home Panel • The Home panel provides access to general information regarding the ICS appliance, such as the version of ICS currently running and the general health of the current configuration

  4. The System Panel • The System panel lets you perform actions that affect the ICS system in a general way. For example, on we can set system time, change the system password, restart the appliance, upgrade ICS, etc.

  5. The Network Panel • The Network panel is used to configure the appliance to function on the network on which it is installed. • We can set • Connection time out • Idle client time out • And many more …

  6. The Cache Panel • This panel lets you set up client acceleration (forward and transparent proxy), and web acceleration (reverse proxy). It also allows you to you specify cluster information (groups of cooperating ICS appliances), batch download, filtering, and many more functions ….

  7. The Monitoring Panel • Allows the user to monitor various ICS appliance activities and statistics in the browser-based tool. • Identifier • Version • Total Memory • Disk Space • Hit Ratios • Throughput etc …

  8. Monitoring Panel Continued … • Cache Logs are in the “Common Log Format” • User has several roll-over options • Logs can be downloaded and analyzed or simply deleted!!!!!

  10. Configuring Browser to Point to the ICS Proxy • From Netscape click on Edit • Then click on Preferences • Go to Advanced and click on Proxies • A window pops up. Fill it as shown
