  2. Torii Hunter Drafted out of High School in 1993 Major League Debut in 1997 Played with Minnesota Twins until 2007 Signed with Anaheim in 2008 and Detroit in 2011 9-time Gold Glove winner (2001-2009) 2 Silver Slugger Awards. Career .279 hitter with 314 HRs Fan favorite wherever he has gone, nicknamed Spiderman by Twins fans for scaling the wall to rob HRs.

  3. Sports Memorabilia Athletes are popular figures and therefore are looked up to by kids and many adults. Autographs and other kinds of memorabilia are a form of history. There is value both sentimentally and financially in memorabilia making it popular.

  4. Financial Value Honus Wagner: Famous SS for Pittsburgh in the early 1900s. 57 identical baseball cards of his are still in existence. Most notable of these was sold for 2.8 million in 2011. The card once belonged to Wayne Gretzky. Most expensive piece of memorabilia was a game-worn Babe Ruth jersey (4.4 million). Value in item is only what it is worth to the person it is being sold to. Scarcity of item and quality of athlete determines the starting bid.

  5. My Artifact Torii Hunter signed picture (2003). Given to me by my roommate for my birthday. Item was signed at an autograph signing session prior to a home game in 2003. Item was signed in person by Torii Hunter. Financial value is unknown but sentimental value is high as I am a huge Torii Hunter fan. This is the bias. The item may be worth a large sum to me but only a miniscule sum to another.
