Professional Practice Highlights Multi-Disciplinary Practice Committee Next Steps • Establishment of the Committee • Research and assessment to assess factors that promote or hinder professional practice • Development of a literature review and a report with recommendations • Executive work group established to address recommendations • MDP Committee to determine professional/discipline-specific competencies for all public health staff to support performance expectations • MDP Committee to map organizational learning and develop recommendations for 2015
Workforce Development Mentoring Future Public Health Professionals • Student Placements • 2013 Four students/ 497 hours(2 medical/2 nursing) • 2014 Six students/ 1680 hours (2 medical, 2 nursing, 1 enforcement, 1 MPH) • Resources • Established guidelines for student placements • Developed orientation resources for student placements, including supports for preceptors/mentors
Organizational Effectiveness Policy Decision-Making Framework Privacy • To address recommendations from leadership workshops and staff assessments • To complement and operationalize the Accountability Framework • To clarify roles and responsibilities • To strengthen compliance with privacy legislation and professional standards of practice • To establish a process for reviewing new initiatives/technology for risks to privacy and development of strategies to mitigate identified risks
