  2. THERearemanykinds of plants in ourregion.Let’sIntroducethem … • BALDIRAN:This plant likes shade and damp.It is calledHemlock in English. There are pain relieving properties,instead of vermidonyou can boilHemlockanddrink it. ISIRGAN:It is calledNettle in English.Isırgan is an importantplantforTurkishpeople.It is usedforvariety of purposesespeciallyformedicinalones.Beside thismostpeoplemakefoodsfrom it.

City of thenut,ordu • Ordu is themostimportantNutcenter in Turkeyand in theworld. • Turkey constitutes 75-80%production of nuts of the world market  • Total annual production of nuts ranged from 450.000 to 600.000 tons. • In Turkey,it is estimatedthat around 400 thousand farmer's familyandtotally2 million people areinterested in production of nuts.

Let’slearnabout ‘galdirik’ • Galdirik is a plant with stalked and  large green leaves,grows in the months of the spring and summer.It is collected freshly in these monthsand only main  part of the body can be eaten. This is an example of local food made from Galdirik.It is called ‘Galdirik Mucveri’

  6. Hoşkiran,thepopeye’snewChoice • According to academicians ,Hoşkıran consists of more Iron than spinach. • There are 40 different areas with the use of this plant in America,beside this there is Institute in Colombia. • Hoşkıran  has also vitaminA,C and calcium in terms of high values​​.

BLACK CABBAGE • This is one of the most famous plant in our region. • Black Cabbage is rich in terms of vitamin C and includes minerals such as calcicum, potassium,sulfur,magnesium,iron,copper • It is a very good protective against cancer  but not recommended for patients withgoiter. • In local it is called ‘PANCAR’

When  left to grow  in wild it turns into a tree view • It is always green and has leaves both in summer and winter. • It creates resources for the country’s economy about $ 300 million and the livelihood of a millionpeople 

  11. Corn • It is one of themostimportantplantforBlackSeaRegion. • It is called ‘MISIR’ in Turkish .

  12. Tirmit • It is a kind of mushroom. • It is so delicious that everybody likes it .

  14. Hamsi • Hamsi is the most important type of fish in Black Sea Region • According to experts Hamsi is extremely rich in terms of iodine and has great benefits with the Development of Intelligence • Over the time Hamsi has become a symbol of the Black Sea • It is called ‘anchovy’in English.

  16. Sheep,ram,cow,goat,lamp • These animals has an important role for the people who live in rural part of region • People mostly deal with animals and agriculture and they get benefit from them as meat and dairy products.

Carettacaretta • It is spread to the Mediterranean coast. • Themost important spawning areas aretownof Belek,Anamur,Koycegiz,Dalyancoats. • The shelllenght can grow up to 1 meter. • Theyfeed on fish,crustaceansand aquatics(especially marine mothers) • Theyareprotected becauseof thedanger of extinction
