  2. Can you beat the po-po? • Problems: • 1. You are driving down the highway in the fast lane going 85mph in a 65mph zone. You pass an unmarked cop in the right hand lane that quickly turns on his blue lights. The closest exit is 3.2 miles away from you. The cop turns on his lights on and starts chasing you 30 seconds after you passed him. You know you can shake the cop if you can exit off the nearest exit before he catches you. The cop is driving 105mph and you keep going 85mph. • Answer the following: • A. Is there anyway you can make it to the exit before the cop catches you? • B. If so, how long will it take you to get to the exit? • C. How long will it take the cop to get to the exit? • D. If not, how long before the cop catches you? • E. If the exit isn’t close enough to you to shake the cop, how close should the closest exit be?
