4. Preferences for Selective Admission ACT composite score of 21 or greater
Pre-nursing GPA of 3.0 on at least 12 hours or more by the end of the fall semester 2007)

5. Minimum Requirements 2.75 GPA in pre-nursing courses
10 hours of pre-nursing courses by the end of the spring semester (2008) before August admission

Pre-nursing conference must be attended prior to each application.
Applications on students applying from year to year will not be kept.
Program is accredited by Southern Association of Community Colleges
7. Application Process
Application process begins at pre-nursing conference**
CNET Exam – Please call 686-4444 (CCED)
Be prepared for an interview
By mid-April., students will receive an email to
verify test scores and transcripts.
Sometime in April (?), students will be
contacted to schedule interview if qualified.
After interview, students will be notified as to
admission or denial. Dates are yet to be
determined.

Compass Test
Reading – Must complete 030 or test at College Entry Level
English – Must complete 091 or test into
English 101
Math – Must complete 065 (070) or test at or above 34 on COMPASS.
ACT is acceptable. If Reading, English or Math is <18, Compass testing is required.

20. PLANNING FOR SUCCESS AND CONTINUED EDUCATION The nursing faculty of OCTC strongly encourage all nursing students to complete the general education courses required by the Associate Degree Nursing Curriculum
Licensed Practical Nurses wishing to further their education, will need to meet these requirements prior to enrolling in the RN programs.
Students tend to be better prepared for the PN program if the RN curricula is followed.
