  2. What is an Idiom? An idiom is something that means different then what it is told as. So the idiom in “she was walking on thin air on her way back home” is that she wasn’t actually walking on thin air. The sentence means that she was excited on her way home.

  3. Examples of Idioms • Example 1: “it was raining cats and dogs” the idiom is it wasn’t actually raining cats and dogs. • Example 2: “don’t let the cat out of the bag” the idiom is there wasn’t really a cat in the bag.
