  1. Human Pain and Suffering Judges 6:13 May 7, 2017

  2. Human Pain and Suffering This is an argument atheist use to try and prove there is no God. They say, If God existed He would not allow man to have pain or suffering.

  3. Human Pain and Suffering This is probably something we have all asked at some point. Judges 6:13 13 Gideon said to Him, "O my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?' But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites."

  4. Human Pain and Suffering Categories of pain and suffering. • Freedom of Choice • Natural Disasters • Refiner’s Fire • Unknown Reasons Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

  5. Human Pain and Suffering Bible tells us it is better to suffer. 1 Peter 3:17 - For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 2 Timothy 3:12 - Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

  6. Human Pain and Suffering How is suffering better? It helps us grow. James 1:13-18 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

  7. Human Pain and Suffering 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. 16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

  8. Human Pain and Suffering It helps us understand true values in life. Ecclesiastes 7:2 Better to go to the house of mourning Than to go to the house of feasting, For that is the end of all men; And the living will take it to heart.

  9. Human Pain and Suffering It helps us grow into the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

  10. Human Pain and Suffering It aligns us with godly men of the past. Hebrews 11:36-37 36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented--

  11. Human Pain and Suffering It helps us silence our accusers. 1 Peter 3:15-16 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.

  12. Human Pain and Suffering It brings joy and fellowship with Christ. 1 Peter 4:12-14 12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. 14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.

  13. Human Pain and Suffering It is commendable before God. 1 Peter 2:19-20 19 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God.
