Survey background The NHS National Staff Surveysurvey runs once every year. All eligible trusts in England are required by the NHS England to conduct the survey annually, but Clinical Commissioning Groups and healthcare organisations outside of the NHS also often choose to run the survey. This report breaks down your organisation’s results to the localities identified in the staff list before the survey launched, allowing you to compare how the different areas within the organisation are performing compared to each other and the organisation average. Methodology The questionnaire used for the NHS National Staff Survey 2018 was developed by the NHS England and the NHS Survey Coordination Centre. The Coordination Centre has comprehensive guidelines on how the survey is to be ran and which staff members should be invited to take part. A copy of the core questionnaire and other additional materials can be found here: http://www.nhsstaffsurveys.com/Page/1058/Survey-Documents/Survey-Documents/ Reporting The report uses “positive scores” as its primary unit of measurement for all questions that can be positively scored. Counts are displayed for questions that cannot be positively scored and to provide context to positively scored questions. The questions reported on are from the mandated core questionnaire for the survey. Any additional local questions the organisation might have used in the survey are reported separately. This section compares your localities’ scores to each other, and to the organisation average. How to read the tables Scores are given as positive scores when a question can be positively scored. These tables also shows counts for each individual answer option to that question. Localities in these questions are shown in ranking order with the highest scoring locality shown on top and the lowest scoring locality at the bottom. The organisation average is shown in the tables to provide comparison. Please note that as these scores are in positive scores higher scores indicate better performance. For an in-depth explanation of positive scoring, see Appendix. Questions that cannot be positively scored are shown in counts and percentages of respondents.
