  2. What are POdcasts? The Pod in iPod + the Cast in Broadcast Recorded programs of talk, music, etc. available on the Internet as a digital file that can be downloaded to a computer or portable device for listening or viewing. Radio shows on the computer Over 600,000 shows – millions of episodes

A Very Brief history of POdcasts 1980’s: ”Audio-blogging” arose with  broadband internet and digital playback devices like iPod. 2000: Core concepts were developed. 2001: First commercial podcast client software developed. 2004: Podcasts began to become popular. 2005: Apple added podcatching to iTunes software. 2008: iPhone 3G & Android G1 let listeners download audio files. 2014: This American Life’s Serial program.
