FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS FUNDACERSSO • FUNDACERSSO as an action responding to the commitments of the Summit of the Americas and the XII and the XIII IACML in all 8 Central American countries and the Dominican Republic • Support project for FUNDACERSSO with the collaboration of the ILO and the PAHO to submit a Project Concept to the CIDI’s Multilateral Special Fund of the OAS • Promote the Central American experience of FUNDACERSSO in the International Fora such as the Hispanic Forum at the National Safety Council’s Congress in the US, and at the XVII World Safety and Health Congress sponsored by the ILO, the International Social Safety Association (ISSA) and the National Safety Congress of the US • Promote greater cooperation between the Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS), in its capacity as collaborative center of PAHO/WHO, with FUNDACERSSO and with other subregional initiatives

FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS CENTRAL AMERICA • Meeting of the Central American Ministers of Labour with IDB, OAS, ILO and PAHO authorities to explore mechanisms to support FUNDACERSSO • Seek for mechanisms to strengthen information systems throughout the Central American Region. CARICOM • Support CARICOM and the counterparts of the OECS in strengthening a subregional mechanism in OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY.

FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS • TROIKA presents the issue of OHS during the next Meeting of PAHO’s Directive Council. • Identify virtual and presential mechanisms that will allow to continue offering Masters and Diplomas in Occupational Health and Safety with the support of the OAS Educational Portal of the Americas, the Inter American University Organization, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Pan American Health Organization in order to promote joint certifications with national and foreign universities. • Promote subregional initiatives that draw from the lessons learned from CERSSO’s subregional cohesion in the area of Occupational Health and Safety with special emphasis on the strengthening tripartite work. • Work with the Trade Unit of the OAS in order to strengthen the discussion of this issue in the context of the Trade Agreements.

FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS MINISTERS • Include the issue of Occupational Health and Safety as a key thematic area within the Plan of Action of the XIV IACML in Mexico. • Promote greater linkage and work between Ministers of Labour and Ministers of Health, as well as between Ministers of Labour and Ministers of Education • Negotiate through the presidents of the Councils of Ministers of Labour of MERCOSUR, CAN, CARICOM and the Central American countries and Dominican Republic, Panama and Belize, the development of a joint plan to coordinate actions on Occupational Health and Safety • Establish a network of focal points in Occupational Health and Safety to support the joint work of the OAS, PAHO, ILO and the European Agency of Safety and Health at Work (European Union). • Promote yearly workshops on Occupational Health and Safety organized by the Ministers of Labour from the different subregions with the support from the OAS as Technical Secretariat of the IACML, the PAHO, ILO, IDB and other agencies
