Description • Huntington disease is a progressive degenerative condition that causes nerve cells in the brain to waste away. • The disease can cause uncontrolled bodily movements, facial grimacies, emotional disturbances, and mental deterioration. • Huntington disease is an inherited disorder and is not contagios. Huntington disease is a dominant disease; a person only needs to inherite one copy of the mutated Huntington gene to devlope HD. Consequently, every chance of inheriting the gene and developing the disease.

Do you know how many people are affected by the disease? • There are 100,000 people affected by this disease. • There is no cure for Huntington Disease, though there are drugs that can help control movement, problems, and treat depression, and other emotional problems. • The syptoms for this disease is the personality changes, depression, and mood swings.

  4. Do you know the medication? • The patient with HD has a short lifespand. • The drugs for this disease is heloperidor or risperidore , which can help control the movement disorder. • There is no drugs to stop degeneration of the affected portions of the brain.
