  3. An example of rhyme in a song… “way down South where bananas grow, a grasshopper stepped grow and toe rhyme on an elephant’s toe…”

  4. An example of rhyme from a nursery rhyme is… “One, two, buckle my shoe, three, four shut the door…”

  5. Another example of a nursery rhyme is… Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king’s horses And all the king’s men Couldn’t put Humpty Together again..

  6. I could not, would not, on a boat I will not, will not, with a goat, I will not eat them in the rain. I will not eat them on a train. And example of rhyme from a book is…

  7. Words can rhyme at the end of a line… Did you ever see a whale, with a polka-dot tail?

  8. And some rhyme at the end of the words… “Did you ever see a fly wearing a tie?”

  9. “ Did you ever see a bear, combing his hair?” What other words rhyme with bear and hair? chair Can you think of any others? Let’s read this passage…

  12. Think of two words that rhyme. Tell an adult your two rhyming words, and they will write the two words on your paper. Draw pictures of your words and colour them. Turn your picture into the basket. Now that we have practised with rhymes, we can practise on our own!
