APRIL 7-11, 2013 DENVER CONVENTION CENTER DENVER, COLORADO QuestDirect.org/COLLABORATE COLLABORATE 13- Quest Forum is THE source for JD Edwards roadmaps, keynotes & breaking news.
Abstract One View Reporting introduces a new, embedded reporting solution to enhance a company’s ability to improve overall decision making with better, more interactive views of EnterpriseOne information. During this session, we will discuss the setup and architecture of the OneView Reporting solution, as well as the licensing and consulting cost to setup the system. We will explore what pre-built reporting is packaged and included with the solution. We will also discuss how to properly manage the system, and proper change management solutions for development, testing, promotion and securing custom reporting. • Explore the setup and architecture of the OneView Reporting solution, as well as the licensing and consulting cost to setup the system. • Explore what pre-built reporting is packaged and included with the solution. • Discuss how to properly manage the system, and proper change management solutions for development, testing, promotion and securing custom reporting.

Overview • Three methods to integrate BI Publisher (BIP) with EnterpriseOne • Embedded BIP for EnterpriseOne • Convert UBE outputs to pixel perfect outputs. (i.e. reporting)
Overview • Three methods to integrate BI Publisher (BIP) with EnterpriseOne 2. Adhoc Reporting • Interactive reporting for adhoc query requirements using JDBC and Oracle BI Enterprise Edition. (OBIEE) Includes a query engine to build a query, then publish content to end users with the report template builder.
Overview • Three methods to integrate BI Publisher (BIP) with EnterpriseOne 3. OneView Reporting (OVR) • Enables users to select data fields and perform specific data selection from within EnterpriseOneapplications and leverage the layout capabilities within BI Publisher to define the report output formatting. • Real time reporting, with no ETL / stored data cubes. • Query builder capabilities integrates seamlessly into E1 FDA screens. • Provides ability to produce most industry standard reporting outputs. (PDF / DOC(x) / XLS(x) / CSV / PPT(x) / HTML / XML / etc.) • Allows for interactive filtering for reports after creation via graphic objects or data grids • Full change management and security controls in place. • 20 languages supported for report output and BIP design screens. • Release 9.1 introduced OneView applications and OneView Find/Browse forms.
Fastpath to P48280. 2. In the QBE line enter “>1” for the Order Number and click Find to populate the grid. 3. From the OneView menu, choose "Open WO by Work Centers" 4. The data will be loaded into the BI Publisher Report, and the Report Viewer will pop up and look similar to the example below. Scroll down in the view to review the different formats.
Setup • Background • OVR required BIP only, not OBIEE or Oracle Real Time Decisions. (ORTD) • Runs on an embedded copy of Weblogic, which installs with BIP. • Requires E1 app release 9.1 and tools release 9.1.x • Support for running / viewing OVR’s on IPAD is available with tools release 9.1.0.3 and higher. • Exceptions: Dynamic filtering and page design not supported
Setup • Download and install BIP • http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-publisher/downloads/index.html • Simple install option is fine for OVR • Get and apply patch 13366758 from Oracle for BIP
Setup • Download and install Boilerplate Templates (XPT’s) for EnterpriseOne using Change Assistant • E1 templates for creating custom OVR’s • Type: OneView Reporting • OneView_Boilerplates
Setup • Import Boilerplates into BIP • Sign in to BIP as Weblogic (http://bipsvr:7001/xmlpserver) • Click "Catalog" in the upper right corner • Select the “Components” folder • In the Boilerplates report, click Edit • Click “add new layout” in the upper right corner.
Setup • Click "Upload” • Name the template and enter information as follows. Repeat for each zip file.
Setup • Create BIP users • Log into the Weblogic Console (http://bipsvr:7001/console) • Click "Security Realms" under Domain Structure • Click "myrealm" • On the "Users and Groups" tab, click "New". • Create an account for user JDE and any other administrator users - note password restrictions apply as is in E1. • From the Groups tab, add BIAuthors to the list of Chosen groups and click Save. NOTE: If you plan to import 9.1 JDE reports downloaded from Change Assistant, you must also add the BIAdministrators group.
Architecture • How do we “plug” E1 into BIP? • Discussions occur via a web endpoint interface in BIP. • BIP Software Configuration Template app (P953000) • Defines BIP instances to E1 and how to connect to them • BIP Software Configuration Record app (P954000) • Based on the E1 users id’s / role and login environment / pathcodeit determines which BIP server instance you will connect to
Architecture • How do we plug E1 into BIP? • OVR Runtime Features Definition app (P958973) • Provides the report usage capabilities that are possible for BIP • Available values: JDE_NOONEVIEW | JDE_RUNONEVIEW | JDE_DESIGNONEVIEW| JDE_DESIGNSHAREDONEVIEW
Architecture • How do we plug E1 into BIP? • OVR Runtimes Features Authorizations app (P958974) • Assign Features Definition apps to users / roles / *PUBLIC and/or by app / form in E1.
Architecture • How do we plug E1 into BIP? • If user is doing developer or admin tasks with reports, we map their E1 id to a BIP id • E1 Personalization My System Options User Profile Revisions Form Exit BI Publisher Password. Enter your BIP user and password, save changes and log out and back in to activate. Note: Users who only run reports can be linked via a Softcode record proxy user defined in the BIP Software Configuration Record app.
Setup • Download OVR pre-built reports • Found in the Oracle Software Delivery site • 910AllReports.zip
Setup - Loading the OVR’s Import • Activities • Adds Data Model File and Report Template to BIP instance • Add metadata to the Central Objects UGC tables • P952402 | ZJDE0002 – User Generated Content Management • Click add and click load import file. • Browse and select 910allreports.zip file and click the load button. • Click OK to import
