Page 1 CaptainZanzibar’s Treasure !!!!!!!!!!! When I was staring at the crystal-blue sea, I had a flash-back of what my ill dad, actually not my dad, but Captain Zanzibar had said. “This is your destiny, son,” he had told me near his death, “I need you to bring back the treasure I once owned, back to where it belongs.” Then he passed beyond the living to the land of the afterlife. I clutched the huge crumpled map of my father and searched for the pin-prick of green which could be called an island. When it finally emerged, a speck of green in a sea of blue. It was an island paradise. The soft silky sand beckoned to me, telling me to play with it. I took my first step on the uncharted island. As I stepped into the dense undergrowth bewilderment rushed through every pore in my body. The macaws calls filled the sky, a cockatoo choir and frogs frolicked about on the forest floor. A lovely smell wafted through my nostrils. I was left with a decision… Do I … • Enter the jungle ( page 2) or… B. Follow the scent ( page 3) Page 2!!!!! Page 3!!!!!
I crept, spine tingling, into the deep mist of the howling jungle. Gibbons suddenly marched upon me. I started sprinting, an army of gibbons following me, screeching across the echoes of the maze of the greenery across the jungle. Numerous amounts of allied gibbons charged towards the marshal gibbon. He soon told them to devour me and rip out my brain. After a narrow escape, I saw a treasure chest. However, the vines were unstable. What do I do? Page 2 • Take a different route • B. Follow the vine Page 4 Page 5
Page 3 Smoke drifted along the golden sands of the island. I perceived a beacon of raw meat cooking. I crept along the sands, my body like jelly. As I drew nearer the flaming drift wood of the beacon, a concrete ruin came into sight. Moss coated, the thick, grey wall until a somewhat eagle-like object plodded closer until a flawless 200gram crystal glinted in the sunlight. I was tempted to grab hold of the crystal. I just had to… • Stay there to get the diamond • Run off Page 6 Page 7
Page 4 I soon clambered up into a chamber filled to the brim with jewels and piles and piles of gold bars. I was stuffing all the treasure in my bag. I soon slipped and fell down a big hole. It took me to the water of the bay where I was pulled down by my bag, I had to drop my bag but I had a small pouch with a little fortune. I got on my boat and sailed away never to return. I GOT THE TREASURE!!!!!!! Try again for even more treasure! Back to the beginning
Page 5 I froze with complete fear. I glared at another route, but it didn’t look safe. I decided to climb the high rise of the vines. I hiked up the vines, as quickly and as safely as I could, trying to face my fear of heights. I heard a rattle, another and another until it was waving towards me. I heard a hiss. It rolled its tongue at me and stung me. I was paralyzed. The gibbons were waiting. I fell. I died… Back to the beginning
Page 6 I froze, my heart thumping, trying to break free. Everything went quiet. Darkness rose upon me. “Hawk!” A colossal eagle flied over my head, swooping endlessly, forwards, backwards, everywhere. All of a sudden the eagle soared down and threw its legs on my legs, suffocating me, leading me to my death… Back to the beginning
Page 7 I scarpered. The eagle swiped its talons at me, missing me by a millimetre. Lucky I hadn't stayed for tea! I slid and tumbled down and by a sleek twisting liquid body. THE TREASURE! For some reason, the brass plating was burnt and there were bubbles frothing in the water. I thought it was safe enough so I went in. I dissolved away as the treasure floated up. Back to the beginning
