MODEL DATA VALIDATION Objectives • Develop dynamic simulation core competency • Create Models Supporting In-house Engineering Decisions • Accurate Model Development - Predictive Capability • Verified Data Sets • Validated Model Performance – “Live Fire” Comparison
Definitions • Modeling: A schematic description of a system, theory, or phenomenon that accounts for its known or inferred properties – Drawings, 3D models • Simulation: Predict aspects of the behavior of a system by creating a mathematical model including reactions and interactions • Kinematics: The branch of mechanics that studies the motion of a body or a system of bodies without consideration given to its mass or the forces acting on it – motion without interactions • Dynamics: The branch of mechanics that covers the effects of forces on the motion of a body or system of bodies, especially of forces that do not originate within the system itself – motion with impacts and interactions • ADAMS:Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems. Systems-based kinematic and dynamic analysis tool
