  1. 2 Timothy 2:1 be empowered by grace in Christ Jesus

  2. 2 Timothy 2:2 Pass on what you have learnt

  3. 2 Timothy 2:3-7 • Three analogies: Soldier, Athlete, Farmer • Endure hardships • Don't get entangled with wrong things • Compete by the rules • Work hard

  4. 2 Timothy 2:8-10 This is the Gospel we preach and for which we are also willing to endure hardships, so that others can obtain salvation.

  5. 2 Timothy 2:11-13 So this is our hope, in the midst of enduring hardships... if we die, we will live if we endure, we will reign

  6. 2 Timothy 2:14-15 • Be diligent... • A, present yourself approved to God • B, be a worker who does not need to be ashamed • C, rightly divide the Word of truth

  7. 2 Timothy 2:16-18 Avoid useless talk

  8. 2 Timothy 2:19-21 • Four requirements to a vessel of honor: • #1, cleansed (departing from sin) • #2, sanctified (set apart unto the Lord, holy) • #3, useful (available, easily used) • #4, prepared (equipped, ready)

  9. 2 Timothy 2:22 "with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart"

  10. 2 Timothy 2:23-26 It is God who will have to work in their hearts drawing them to a place of repentance and acknowledging of the truth Engage in prayer

  11. KEY TAKE AWAY 2 Timothy 2:21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
