Make sure to bring these items to your road test: vehicle in good condition, current registration, insurance card, valid permit, licensed accompanying driver, 6 points of identification. Remember to follow guidelines to avoid failure and demonstrate your skills safely during the test.

  2. THINGS YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE ROAD TEST • Vehicle in good working condition with current inspection sticker. • Current registration • Current insurance card • Valid permit • An accompanying driver who must be licensed to operate a vehicle. • 6 points of identification

  3. Vehicle • in good working condition with current inspection sticker

  4. Can not have center console that prevents the examiner from reaching the brake.

  5. Center Console with Parking Brake in the middle is okay

  6. Other reasons for failure • poor brakes • defective parking brake • unsafe tires radial tires or snow tires or chains when road is snow covered • unreasonably unclean vehicle interior • missing seatbelts • a fast engine idle • .

  7. The licensed driver must remain in the vehicle with the applicant at all times.

  8. Applicants are prohibited from moving the vehicle, even in the road test lane, without the licensed driver in the car.

  9. If the licensed driver does not hold a NJ license, the applicant can not drive to the road test or move the car while waiting in line.
