Facts About Water Pollution Cont. • Point source: harmful substances are emitted into any body of water. • Non-Point source: delivers pollutants indirectly through environmental changes. • Water that can be polluted is rivers, lakes, & oceans.
Causes Of Water Pollution • Sewage & fertilizers which contain nutrients such as nitrates & phosphates. • Excess nutrients cause the growth of algae which uses up all of the available oxygen.
