2. Whole Film Plot • After Alex is abducted on the journey home from her night out she is brought to a room where she is held hostage. She is abducted by her father who she has been brought up to believe is dead. In fact her mother took full custody of her when she was a baby as her father was a drug user and had mental health problems. During the last 16 years Alex and her mother were put into the witness protection programme, so that the father couldn’t find them and potentially hurt them. But now Alex’s father has finally tracked them down and is out to get revenge on his ex-wife for leaving him and taking away his daughter.

3. Inspirations and Influences • Taken - A former spy relies on his old skills to save his estranged daughter, who has been forced into the slave trade. • Man On Fire- In Mexico City, a former assassin swears vengeance on those who committed an unspeakable act against the family he was hired to protect. • These films influenced us because they were very popular. Taken made over five times the amount of money that was spent in the making of it. Our initial idea was to focus on a kidnapping and we thought these films were prime examples because they uses classic thriller conventions.

4. Opening Sequence • A girl is abducted in the early hours on the morning on her ‘walk of shame’ home after a night out. • When Alex is abducted there is a bag put over her head. We are going to film this by putting a bag over the camera so it is a point of view shot. This will also give the audience the feeling that it is them being abducted. The film title will appear as there is a blackout in the film (when the bag is on her head). When the bag is removed she is in a different setting tied to a chair. The camera shot will carry on as point of view so the audience still feel involved with the scene. • Throughout the sequence we want to use a subtle violin sound to build up a tense atmospheric feel which would make the audience feel worried. We also want to add in a heavy breathing sound throughout some shots of the film to build even more tension

5. Target Audience • Our film is targeted at 15+ as this allows more of the public to view it, reaching a wider audience than just over 18 viewers. Target audience viewers should be interested in thriller films with dramatic twists in the story lines. We have looked at other films similar in our genre, e.g. taken which has been certified as a 15, which we have based our certification on as the film plot and idea are similar. Another possible target audience could be for the older viewers as most thrillers are quite sophisticated and it gives them a challenge to try and work out the twists in the storyline. • For target audiences of specific genres such as thriller, you have to think of how the viewer will come across and find out about the film which includes their interests and hobbies as advertising works in a number of areas, e.g. playing video games, watching television etc.
