E N D
Visual Rhetoric By: Britton Crabtree
Background info. • This picture comes from an Italian hunting association called Federazione Italiana Della Caccia(FIDC) or the Italian Federation of Hunting. The ad was used to encourage the use of hunting for young kids. The ad was part of a series that came out in 2009 to look after the future of young hunters.
The focal point of the image is the young hunter in the center of the picture. Notice the background is unclear to bring out the kid blowing the duck call.
The purpose of the ad is to encourage young children to discover the outdoors and appreciate nature at its finest. For fathers to teach their children the techniques of hunting so that they will be able to pass that on to their own children.
The brightness of the picture helps bring out the things in the foreground of the picture. The kids face and the hay bales he is sitting on.
The emotional appeal in the image is contentment and excitement all in one. The young hunter is embarking on the best that nature has to offer.
The logical appeal is that young children should spend more time outdoors to learn what nature has to offer and learn the ways of hunting.
The ethical appeal in the image is the FIDC logo in the middle of the photo.
