  2. Monday: Chickasaw Challenge • 1. Draw a diagram that shows what happens to the molecules in chemical reaction. • 2. What is one goal you are setting for yourself this week • 3. Look at the question to the right: determine the questions that you would need to ask yourself in order to answer this question. Which substance is classified as an element? A. NaCl B. CO C. H2O D.   10. How To Balance! • Step 1: Draw A box around all of the chemical formulas • Step 2: Make a list of all the elements on the reactant side and how many there are • Step 3: Write numbers in front of each box until it is balanced. NaCl + __BeF2 --> __NaF + __BeCl2

The reaction produces heat, which causes the plastic of the balloon to soften and change shape. The reaction in the container produces gas, which causes the balloon to inflate. The outside air pressure pushes on the container and forces air inside the balloon. The air molecules from the container move into the balloon and form a solid substance.
