THE INTERPERSONAL MODE: • 2-way interactive; clarification of meaning is possible • Speaking, listening, reading and writing. • Face-to-face or telephone conversations, written messages. Dr.Tahany@2009
THE INTERPRETIVE MODE: • Receptive communication; clarification of meaning is not possible, creator of message is absent. • Listening or reading only. • Listening to a news broadcast, reading a novel, watching a movie. Dr.Tahany@2009
THE PRESENTATIONAL MODE: • Formal, one-way communication to an audience of listeners or readers; clarification of meaning is not possible. • Giving a speech to or oral report, preparing a paper, producing a newscast. Dr.Tahany@2009
