  1. Poetry Anthology With: Roald Dahl and Marilyn Singer Power point done by: Emily Reclite

  2. Roald Dahl • One thing that I like about Roald Dahl’s poems is that he makes them funny and keeps you interested. • As you may already know, Roald writes many books; but mostly fantasy books. So I think that he likes to start fresh and make writing his! • Roald has sold many books so far in his life, and I’m sure he will always be great at what he does and never give up!

  3. Marilyn Singer • Now I don’t know that much about Marilyn Singer, but from what I read, she is very talented at what she does. • I had a couple favorite poems that I read of hers. But the one I’m going to share with you is called King Kong.(on the next page) • Also when I was reading her book, I saw some great illustrations by Gris Grimly. I think they make a great team!

  4. My favorite poems by Roald Dahl and Marilyn Singer • King Kong by Marilyn Singer: Alas, King Kong, he sealed his fate when he climbed up the Empire State Oh, why’d he try this great escape? ‘Cause they called him a monkey and he was an ape! • The Lion by Roald Dahl: The lion just adores to eat a lot of tender red meat, and if you ask the lion what is much the tenderest of the lot, he will say roast lamb or curried beef or devilled ham or crispy pork or corned beef hash or sausages or mutton mash. Then could it be a big plump hen? He answers no. What is it then? Oh lion dear, could could I not make you happy with a lovely steak? Could I entice you from your lair with rabbit-pie or roasted hair? The lion smiled and shook his head. He came up very close and said, “ The meat I chew is neither steak or chops. IT’S YOU.”
