State Share Index Purpose: To equalize funding based on wealth of district 1) District 3-Average Valuation District ADM = District per Pupil Valuation 2) State 3-yr Average ValuationState ADM = State Per Pupil Valuation 3) District Per Pupil Valuation State Per Pupil Valuation = District Valuation Index 4) District Median Income State Median Income = District Income Index

TARGETED ASSISTANCE(Cont) • Arrange all Local Wealth Indexes statewide from lowest to highest - identify 490th district (threshhold district) • For each district with less than the 490th district; - identify the difference in Local Wealth from 490th district - multiply the difference by 6 mills - multiply by the district’s Wealth Index - multiply by a district’s net ADM

LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY FUND Where: • Cat. 1 LEP ADM = Students who were enrolled for 180 days or less in US schools and were not exempted from taking the spring administration of required state English reading and writing tests • Cat. 2 LEP ADM = Students who were enrolled for more than 180 days in US schools or were previously exempted from taking the spring administration of the required state English reading and writing tests • Cat. 3 LEP ADM = Students who are not included in the above categories and are in trial-mainstream period

THIRD GRADE READING GUARANTEE Effective 2013-14: In order to move to Grade 4: • Score of 392 on Grade 3 Reading Ohio Achievement Assessment • proficiency on end-of-summer assessment after summer remediation • mid-year promotion (RC 3313.608)
