SAT I and SAT II dates and payments • Test Date: March 9 • Registration starts Feb. 8 • Test Date: May 4 • Registration starts April 5 • COLLEGEBOARD.ORG
SAT Prep • Weekly SAT words quiz (with the same packet) • Tutorials and SAT packets
Weekly Scholarship • Students should spend at least 2 hours per week writing the essay. Think about it this way: If you spend 2 hours writing an essay and win a $500 scholarship, you just made $250 per hour. This is more than what a lawyer makes per hour! It is worth the time. With that said, spending 4-5 hours searching, brainstorming, and writing is suggested and most optimal.
Where to find scholarships • www.fastweb.com • Local scholarship: Best Buy, Nordstrom’s, Lawndale Kiwanis, Sand Piper, etc.
Scholarship due dates • Each student will write their own scholarship. Therefore, the submission date for each scholarship will be different. It is crucial that students use their calendars to mark due dates and send their scholarships on their own. The teacher will not send it for them. Please purchase a few manila envelopes, business size envelopes, and some FOREVER stamps.
Submitting online • If the essay is to be submitted online, the student must make a word doc copy of it to turn in by the following MONDAY. • NEVER write an essay straight into a website. Always type on word doc FIRST. If you write straight into the scholarship internet type box, you will lose that scholarship. • Must be a different scholarship each week
Fasala • Must be a different scholarship each week • Must be an essay scholarship and not one in which you fill out your address and birthdate • 100 points each week • Must be turned in at the beginning of period 2 on Monday morning, unless there is a 3-day weekend. If you are sick, the email must appear in my inbox (msdeguz@gmail.com) by the start of class or else the same FASALA applies. • Please understand that the FASALA is for accountability to prevent parent/teacher/student negligence of any sort.
Heading • This is how the heading should look like:
