Accessing GIL • GIL can be searched either on or off-campus without a password. • At a library workstation, click on the icon for GIL. • Outside the library, point your Web browser to: http://gil.uga.edu
Searching for • A book by title? • Books written by an author? • The location of a journal? Then try:
At the “Title/Author/Subject” screen, select the type of search
Leave off initial articles such as an, a, the, la, el, der education in georgia
Click on the “Search” button education in georgia
Results: all books owned by UGA whose titles start with those words
and a link by call number to “virtually browse” the shelves = NOT CHECKED OUT
It will ask for your barcode number and last name 22108009999999 Dawg
The password for using GALILEO off-campus is also under “Request.”
Print or save either one book, the entire list, or marked items.
At the bottom of each screen are several different options for printing and saving.
“Save to disk” formats results for either printing or saving.

Clicking on that brings up books that Stephen King wrote under a pseudonym.

To find “silent films” as a phrase silent films
