Ted Hammond- Ted is one of the most important characters in the book. He wants to be a detective and acts like one all the time. Ted is in 6th grade and has short blonde hair . He tries to solve mysteries almost everywhere he goes as well. April-In the story April is a sneaky girl. In the beginning of the book she really wants to stay on the low and away from people. Never spoke much and had to get other people to go and get her stuff. She had brown hair that covered one cheek almost down to her chin. Characters
Setting The Anderson Farm is were Ted and April met. Also it is one of the places where Ted helps April get food and other essentials they need to live. This is where their relationship really begins to grow. The school is also an important setting. This is where Ted really begins reading mysteries. Also because he gets on ideas on how to help April as well.
The conflict of the story is when Ted realizes that his school will soon be closing. He wants to figure out a way to save it and as he does he notices April in a window hiding from him. So the next day, Ted had decided to go inside the house and sees April there. They begin talking and he finds out that April can’t be seen by anyone or a guy from the Military may track her family down and take them. So Ted makes a promise to April to help her out. Which will take a lot of work. The type of conflict is Man vs. Society. Since there was two main characters and a conflict. Finally the resolution of the story is that April and her family leave the town right when the people of the town decide to welcome them. April’s family leaves to go stay with their aunt and Ted never sees her again.
While reading this book, I predicted that Ted was going to help out April and they would become best friends. • My prediction came true, because Ted did help out April in many ways. They also became good friends. Prediction
