Project Overview • The Fort St. John Hospital and Residential Care project includes: • A 55-bed acute and ambulatory care hospital; • A 123-bed residential care facility for seniors; and • A support services program that will provide laundry, materiel services, and food services to the Fort St. John facilities. • The project will be delivered via a Public Private Partnership with ISL
Project Overview • The facilities will be constructed on a new 40-acre site, with land donated by the City of Fort St. John. Site size allows for future expansion of healthcare facilities. • Peace River Regional Hospital District is providing $98.0 million in funding • Fixed Price Contract with ISL
Project Overview • Acute Care Facility • 55 acute care beds • Endoscopy Suite • 2 state of the art operating rooms plus procedure room • Ambulatory Clinics including cancer clinics and haemodialysis • Medical and Surgical Inpatient rooms • Intensive Care Unit • Separate Maternity entrance and ward with single-room maternity – Labour Delivery Recovery Post-Partum • Emergency Department 2-1/2 times larger then existing

Project Objectives Position Northern Health to meet growth in demand for health care services. Provide adequate space to enable client-focused care delivery and outcomes for patients. Improve quality of care provided to patients of the Fort St. John region and enable/facilitate clinical best practices Improve working conditions to improve safety, efficiency, and outcomes for patients, clinicians and staff. Provide a practice and learning environment that will attract and retain quality health care professionals. In order to meet urgent health care need, complete the new hospital in 2011. Provincial objectives include financial criteria, an environmentally friendly and sustainable design, and as high a wood content as is practical where consistent with the health care objectives.
