Gateway Course Objectives • Learn to build and work effectively in teams. • Enhance written and oral communication. • Understand the cross disciplinary nature of business problems and strategies. • Review lower division business core material. • Use ethical thinking in solving business problems.
How Will Gateway be Delivered? • Active Student Learning • Student preparedness is key • Teaching Method • Faculty are coaches not lecturers • Students prepare and present homework • Most assignments require working in teams • Formal and informal oral presentations
Tips to Succeed in Gateway • Complete all assignments before class • Invest in your team • Remember you are learning how to build an effective team • Plan ahead and budget time for class • Take LDC exams early and get them out of the way • Learn from each other • Take advantage of LDC subject area expertise within your team
BUS 302L – Gateway Lab • You must take BUS 302L either: • Prior to taking BUS 302 • OR at the same time you take BUS 302 • You will not be able to enroll in 400-level business classes until you pass both BUS 302 and 302L. • Enroll now – all 302L sections are open; there are no class size limits.
