Ethernet kabellengte (2) - Eén segment max. 500 m en max. 5 segmenten - Max. 100 transceiver per segment met minimaal 2,5 m afstand - Dus (5 x 500) / 20 = 125 bits over de totale lengte van de kabel
Ethernet Standards • The 10BASE system operates at 10 Mbps and uses baseband transmission methods • 100BASE 100 Mbps. Because it is 10 times faster than Ethernet, it is often referred to as Fast Ethernet. • 100BASE-TX: two pairs of high-quality twisted-pair wires • 100BASE-T4: four pairs of normal-quality twisted-pair wires • 100BASE-FX: fiber optic cable • 1000BASE Gigabit ethernet • 1000BASE-T: category 5e copper cabling • 1000BASE-SX: fiber optic cable • 1000BASE-LX: longer distances over single-mode fiber • 10GBASE (emerging technology)
