Introduction To 3G • 3G the term epitomizes for the third generation mobile telephony. • It is based on the International Telecommunication Union(ITU) family of standards under the international mobile telecommunication program, IMT 2000. • 3G Technologies enable network operators to offer wider range of more advanced services to users while achieving greater network capacity through improved spectral efficiency. Service include wide area wireless voice telephony, video calls, and broadband wireless data, all in a mobile environment. • Through 3G service customer can avail high speed mobile internet from his 3G mobile handset. Customer can avail 3G data cards to get internet connection at a broadband speed in their mobile itself.

Market Analysis of 3G in India. • Going by the present market scenario India is expected to have 270 million 3G customers by 2013 and is expected to lead the 3G market among emerging countries as per the research firm Strategy Analytics. • 3G has a wide market in India and the experts are of opinion that it is considered to be a boom for Indian Telecom Industry as due to its wide range of advanced services like Video Calling, Video conferencing, Fast internet with speed between 3 mbps to 7.5 mbps, Internet TV , games , online movie & music downloads etc it has already created a huge demand in the market. • Wireless Intelligence forecasts that India will reach around 400 million 3G connections (including CDMA2000) by the end of 2015, which will represent almost 30 percent of total connections. Over 80 percent of 3G connections will be WCDMA/HSPA in five years, with the remaining 20 percent on CDMA2000 1X and CDMA2000 1X EV-DO Rev. A networks. All mobile operators that acquired 3G spectrum last year will have commercially launched their WCDMA/HSPA networks by June 2011.

Only thing is that you need a 3G enable handset with Vodafone 3G connectionand truly till date they are providing fastest 3G connections in Kolkata. • Vodafone’s 3G service includes live Video conference, Vodafone TV(IPTV), High speed internet with 7.5 mbps, Video blogging, Mobile newspaper, Live Streaming etc. • To attract the next generation Vodafone has introduced HD(High definition) gaming and HD quality movie and video.

Customer Feedback • Well the customer feedback regarding 3G is quite good as people are responding to it very positively mainly youngsters. • Till many customers are unaware what 3G is all about and what benefits they are going to have from this mainly the middle aged & old aged people. • So we think that more promotions are required to roll 3G services all over India. • Since now Vodafone have launched the services as a First private player to launched 3G service in India people will now come to know about 3G in a far better way.
