Important Tests • Alabama High School Graduation Exam • September 19, Monday, Biology - for students who have passed Biology in the 9th grade • September 20, Tuesday, Math – for students who have passed Algebra last year **You will take all parts of the exam March 19-23
Other Tests • PSAT (Practice SAT) • I recommend that all 10th graders take this • Cost: $15.00 • Date: October 12, Wednesday • Great Practice for the SAT • I will take $ in all lunches on Sept. 13 and 14 • You receive: • A score comparison as if it was the real SAT • An answer sheet telling you the correct answers • Your test book is returned
Other Tests • PLAN (Practice ACT) • Only for 10th Graders • I recommend all 10th graders take this: • Date: Unknown Yet – possibly October • Cost-unknown yet-might be free through a grant • Great practice for the ACT • A score comparison as if it was the real ACT • An answer sheet telling you the correct answers • Your test book is returned

Reminder of Advanced Diploma Requirements • Math: Trigonometry or higher by graduation • Science: Take advanced sciences (any science we offer except for Geology, Environmental Science, and General Chemistry) 11th and 12th grade • Foreign Language: 2 consecutive years of the same foreign language
Don’t forget….. • For graduation, you need: • Pass all five parts of the AHSGE, and • 24 credits (including these required classes): • 4 math - .5 credit of fine arts • 4 science - 1.0 credit of PE • 4 English (JROTC, Sports, and Marching Band count) • 4 history - .5 of Computer - .5 of Health
NCAA Clearinghouse Requirements • If you have plans to play a sport in college, talk to your coach about meeting requirements for NCAA eligibility now • Right now, you need 16 credits to be eligible for a Division 1 school and 14 credits for a Division 2 school • Algebra 1A and 1B only count as a .5 credit each on the Clearinghouse • Google “NCAA Clearinghouse” for more information
