Differentiation Continued • If you have not reviewed the rest of the powerpoint from class five on differentiation , please do so since we did not have enough time to get to that portion last week.
Articulation • Think about the times that your team or school articulate student progress to other staff: • Some times might be: • At the end of the school year to discuss the students with the next grade level’s teachers • At IIT( Instructional Intervention Team) Meetings or SST ( Student Support Team) • At quarterly data discussions • During transition meetings to the next level for students with disabilities • What other times can you think of? • What is it important to articulate to other teachers?
Articulation • What is discussed during articulation meetings? • It should include topics such as how the student learns best • The student’s learning style • Their progress during the previous period or year • Helpful information that will aid the teacher in building a positive relationship with the student • What it should not include is: • Negative talk about the student or the family
Goal Setting with Students • Conduct conferences with students • Have students determine their own areas of weakness and strength but evaluating their own work • Have students formulate a goal statement • Assist students in creating an action plan for improvement • Determine a time frame
Social Justice/Social Issues • Read the copy of a website on Social and Economic Justice that on the blog-site for this session • Visit one or more of the links that are provided on the blog-site sidebar( left side of the blog) • Think about what social justice means to you. • If you select the discussion on social justice, you can provide your thoughts there.
Assignments • 1. Contribute to one of the two questions posted on the discussion board this week • You do not need to bring an articulation form or card since we are not together • Read the article posted on the blog for this week entitled, “ Need for Global Villagers” • Your Freedom Writer’s assignment is due March 11th. • Work on your final project • No other assignments are assigned for week 6.
Reminder • Class seven listed in the syllabus is not a face to face class. It is on-line. Our next and last face to face is class eight when your projects are due.
