  2. Life on the Texas Frontier Many settlers moved from the United States to Texas. People also moved from European countries. These people cam in and built new businesses and homes and some had ranches and farms. Some people who moved to Texas often brought their slaves.

  3. Life on the Texas Frontier The new settlers caused problems from the native Americans who lived on the land. The people were killing the animals that the Native Americans depended on for food and trade. As a result, the Native Americans began attacking the new settlers.

  4. Life on the Texas Frontier Many new businesses grew under the free enterprise system. Under this system, the people could decide what they want to buy and who they want to buy it from. They also were able to sell whatever products they want and were able to sell it for any price they chose. The United States today is based on the free enterprise system.
