Child Hood • Born on December 22, 1960 • He grew up in Brooklyn, New York • He was Spanish-African American • His parents were Gerard and Matilde
Early Life • Art became a way to channel anger and as empty childhood • His artwork was found out through Manhattan by the time he was 16 • Jean-Michel was 18 when he approached Geldzahler and Andy Warhol in a restaurante but they turned him down because he was too young • Less then 3 years later he was invited to Institute for Art and Urban Resources
Career • He did graffiti paintings • In 1982 he took the art world by storm • His art was known over seas by the age of 24
Death • He preferred women and drugs over mostly anything • He died on August 12th 1988 of a drug overdose. He was only 28 years old.
