Theme Verse Deut 30 15 "See, I have set before you today life & good, death & evil, 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, & to keep His commandments, His statutes, & His judgments, that you may live & multiply; & the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.
1) God’s Character is Driven by Love- I John 4:7-10 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

God is love-the characteristic that permeates all that God is.
Jer 31 3 The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.
God has not driven us, manipulated us, forced us or threatened us-but has drawn us with love. Love is not controlling, but freeing.
Do I believe in a God who is driven by love for me? Do I trust in His love to guide me through difficult times?
2) God’s Love Leads Him to Act on Our Behalf- John 3:16-17 16 "For God so loved the world that He gave his one & only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
2) God’s Love Leads Him to Act on Our Behalf- John 3:16-17 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
How do we know that God loves us? His actions on our behalf- His pursuit of us, His sacrifice for us, His promises to us, His work in us individually….
Rom 5 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us… NIV
Rom 5 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. NIV
God has no problem showing or demonstrating His love for us. He wears His emotion for us “on His sleeve”, making it obvious how He thinks of us. The difficulty we have is that He does this completely apart from our merit or worthiness to be loved.
Deut 7 7 The LORD did not set his affection on you & choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. NIV
Deut 78 But it was because the LORD loved you & kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand & redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. NIV
Can I accept & receive God’s love for me that drove Him to send & sacrifice Jesus, apart from my earning or deserving it?
Our Response to God’s Love for Us… …is love for others. Being loved should cause us to love others.
