  2. Purpose of the Academy • AMAE was established in 1995 to recognize outstanding alumni for their professional achievement and success, and to create a group of Alumni that would provide organized assistance to the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. 

  3. Organization and Structure • Governed by a Board of Directors • Lisa Sombart - President • Patrick Davidson – First VP • John Eash – 2nd VP • Randall Wood – Sec / Treasurer And 8 Committees: • Communications  • Facilities • Special Events • Membership • Past Presidents' • Scholarship Awards • Senior Design and Technical Resource • Strategic Planning

  4. What the Academy does for ME and AE Students? • Scholarship Opportunities • Senior Design Project Funding • Access to Academy for Mentoring

  5. What the Academy does for Faculty? • Vehicle for Accessing R&D funds • Funding of Special Lab Equipment

  6. Academy Source of Funding • Academy Members and certain matching funds from their companies 2013 Plan for Academy Funds (including instructional labs)

  7. How can Faculty get the most out of the Academy? AMAE Class Reunions! 1998, 2003, 2008 • Get involved with Academy Committees • Participate in Academy events at the campus • Publish your research capabilities to Academy members • Contact the Academy at amae@mst.edu.
