Settle a Keg Before tapping a Keg, you need to settle it. From the liquor store, a beer inside can become disquieted. So, before dispensing letting it sit, it will prevent a lot of foam.
Keg Must be Cold After it’s sitting, you need to put it on the ice and keep cold throughout the whole time because you need to prevent it from dispensing a bunch of foam. Generally, beer needs to kept between temperature 32-38 F. Before using it, you need to put it on the ice so that it will reach its right temperature before starting a dispensing. Some people use a bucket of ice to keep a keg cold. When you are using a bucket of ice, it can create problems because of uneven temperature throughout the Keg and ice melts quickly also. A better method is you can use an insulated Keg bag. An insulated Keg bag keeps the ice frozen and provides better coverage around a keg.
Tapping a Keg Before applying keep the lever of your keg pump in the upright and unlock position. If a lever is not unlocked when you install it, it will through beer all over you when you twist it. Insert the base of Keg pump on the top and just twist it clockwise. After that pull out on the lever handle and push it down. When a keg is tapped, you need to open a faucet and check it’s pouring before pumping air into a keg. Must keep in mind, don’t pump air too much.
The Perfect Pour Check the flow rate, a perfect pour must take around 6-8 seconds to fill a cup. If you pumped too much, beer can be a blast out into a pure foam and if you have not pumped enough, the beer drizzle out slowly. When a flow rate has slowed, you need to pump it.
