  2. Colorful National Flag • Three equal horizontal bands of red (top), yellow, and green with the coat of arms centered on the yellow band; red stands for bravery and the blood of national heroes, yellow for the nation's mineral resources, and green for the fertility of the land.

  3. GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE MAP • It is in the middle west of South America, it nears the Andes Mountain, but only with few populations. Also, Bolivia is an interior country of South American, so its exportations and importations may limit the speed of growing economy.

  4. POPULATION DENSITY MAP • People are usually living in the big cities, especially in the capitals, La Paz, Sucre. The reason why people move into big cities and close to the capital because of the exportation and the importation could make money. Therefore, people look for welfare which can lead to better lives. However, as the map shown, obviously far from cities there are least people which areas are surrounding the capitals.

  5. TOPOGRAPHICAL MAP • Three main geographic zones: the Andes mountains and “Altiplano” to the West; the semitropical Yungas and temperate valleys descending the eastern slopes of the Andes; and the tropical lowlands.

  6. Stats • Population: 10,118,683 • GDP Growth Rate: 4.2% • GDP Per Capita: 4,800 dollars • Life Expectancy: 67.75 years

  7. RELIGION • Roman Catholic 95%, Protestant (Evangelical Methodist) 5%.

  8. LANGUAGE • Spanish (official) 60.7%, Quechua (official) 21.2%, Aymara (official) 14.6%, foreign languages 2.4%, other 1.2% (2001 census)

  9. Importation: $4.922 billion • Types: petroleum products, plastics, paper, aircraft and aircraft parts, prepared foods, automobiles, insecticides, soybeans

  10. Exportation: • Types: natural gas, soybeans and soy products, crude petroleum, zinc ore, tin

  11. Government • Type: Republic; note- the new constitution defines Bolivia as a “Social Unitarian State”.

  13. The president of Bolivia claimed that USA will be a colony of Chinese soon. Bolivia was against the USA in 2006. In 2009, Evo strongly opposed that US set an air force in Columbia, and he promised that if USA did something aggressively Bolivia will be “the second Vietnam”. • Allies: There are many countries in allies. Such as British, Australia, Poland… Bolivia joined in April 7th in 1943.

  14. FACTS • The highest navigable lake in the world is found in Bolivia at 3801 meters above sea leavel. That’s Lake Titicaca.

  15. 2. The largest deposit of salt on the planet is also found in Bolivia which is called the Salar de Uyuni. 3. The largest deposit of lithium in the world is found under all that salt!

  16. 4. Bolivia is also home to the Cerro Mutun, located in the Department of Santa Cruz.

  17. 5. Bolivia is located within one of the wettest zones on the planet.
