Workshop Outline/Synopsis • Introduction (5 min.) – give brief overview of the workshop • Reveal How Fred and Forest Teach Strategic Management to Awaken in Students an Interest (20 min.) • Reveal Key Changes in the 14thEdition to Awaken in Students an Interest in Strategic Management (20 min.) • Engage Attendees in an Interactive, Dynamic Group Exercise – (45 min.) divide audience into teams of five, distribute a handout to each attendee and ask them to individually rank order 15 items as to their effectiveness in class for awakening students’ interest in strategic management, then the attendees will develop a team ranking, then Fred and Forest will give the correct ranking with supporting rationale, the winning team will win a prize, field questions/comments

Directions For Handout Exercise • In column 1, individually rank order the following 15 items from 1 = most effective to 15 = least effective in awakening in students an interest in strategic management. • Divide into five person teams. • In column 2, as a team, rank order the following 15 items from 1= most effective to 15 = least effective in awakening in students an interest in strategic management. • In column 3, record the correct rankings. • In column 4, record the absolute difference between column 1 and column 3 and sum these differences. • In column 5, record the absolute difference between column 2 and column 3 and sum these differences. • The individual with the lowest column 5 sum is the winning teacher. • The team with the lowest column 6 sum is the winning team.
