  2. What stopped Israel from entering the promised land? • Fear – Numbers 13:28 • Strong & fortified cities • Doubt – Numbers 13:33 • Like grasshoppers in our own eyes

Where does fear & doubt come from? • Satan’s lies – Genesis 3:4 • Created doubt in Eve’s mind, which caused sin • Satan’s reminders of past failures & weaknesses • Man’s wisdom & philosophies • Evolution, situational ethics, other religious beliefs, political correctness • Building your life around yourself

  4. Fear & doubt: • Form of wickedness – Matt. 25:24-26 • Hinders prayers – James 1:5-7 • Causes decrease in faith • Causes people to stop serving God

  5. How do we fight Satan’s devices? • Satan’s lies • “It is written” – Matt 4:4, 7, 10 • Satan’s reminders of past failures & weaknesses • Forget - Phil. 3:13 • Forgive - Heb. 10:16-18 • All things possible – Phil 4:13 • God created you – Ex. 4:10-11, Gen 1:26

  6. How do we fight Satan’s devices? • Man’s wisdom & philosophies • Faith in power of God - 1 Cor. 2:4-6 • Lean not on your own understanding - Prov. 3:5-6 • Knowledge will pass away – 1 Cor. 13:8 • Building your life around yourself • Build on Christ - Matt 7:24-27

  7. To Fight Fear & Doubt • Increase your faith • Word of God– Romans 10:17 • Godly action – James 2:26 • Prayer – Matt. 21:21 • Associate with the saints – Heb. 10:25

  8. Why fight fear & doubt? • Without faith, it is impossible to please God – Heb. 11:6 • Commanded to be faithful unto death – Rev. 2:10
