Step 2: Financial Aid • FAFSA-Free Application for Federal Student Aid • Apply for: • Pell grants • Student loans • Work study • A+ Scholarship • Veteran benefits • Note: Student loans require a promissory note.
Step 3: Online Orientation • Online Orientation process takes approximately 15 minutes • Why? • Helps provide resources • Acclimates you to OTC • Sparks questions you may have • Must be completed before later steps
Step 4: Request Transcripts • Request from ALLprevious institutions • High school • Missouri GED • Out of state GED • College transcripts • Have them sent to: • Ozarks Technical Community CollegeATTN: Records and Registration1001 E. Chestnut ExpresswaySpringfield, MO 65802Fax: (417) 447-6925
Step 5: Placement Test • COMPASS placement test is used to determine student’s math, writing, and reading skills • COMPASS is required if: • You do not have recent ACT or COMPASS scores (within 2 years) • Transfer students who have not successfully completed math & English in college
Step 6: Attend STAR & Register • STAR-Student Advising and Registration • Learn about required courses • What are placement scores and why they matter • Create an educational plan • How to register for classes • Note: You must have completed the application process, orientation video, placement testing or ACT, and all college transcripts must be received by OTC before you can schedule a STAR session.
Step 7: Make Payment Arrangements • After registration, you must make payment arrangements by designated deadline. • Option 1: Pay tuition in full using Quikpay for an immediate payment • Option 2: Enroll in a payment plan • My Pay-Monthly – Authorized payments deducted monthly • My Pay-Delayed Payment – Your ONE payment will be delayed until later in the semester. This is recommended for students awarded financial aid. This option is only available after a FAFSA has been submitted.
