  5. Specific Define exactly what it is that you want to achieve. What is the target you are aiming for?

  6. What is your Jack? Activity: On a piece of paper: Write down a goal statement: Something that you want to achieve in 2012 / 2013 Stevie WonderWe all have ability. The difference is how we use it.

  7. Total Commitment A goal will need a real commitment from you! Total commitment will: • Provide direction and guide decision making. • Provide motivation • Visualise! Abraham LincolnAlways bear in mind that your own resolution to success is more important than any other one thing.

  8. Real Milestones Your goal statement is a measure for the project. However, there are usually several short-term or small measurements that can be built into the goal. • Identifying milestones will help to measure your progress and help you stay on track. • Set a timeframe for the milestones and goals: • Putting an end point on your goal gives you a clear target to work towards.

  10. Activity Nominate your first milestone: something you want to achieve by 1 July this year. The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one. Mark Twain

  11. Extraordinary A goal needs to stretch you slightly so you feel you can do it. Set your goals that you can attain with some effort! Set the bar high enough for a satisfying achievement! Too difficult and you set the stage for failure, but too low sends the message that you aren't very capable. You are the only person on earth who can use your ability. ZigZiglar
