  2. What is AMP? • Is a web based application tool designed to enable better management and coordination of development assistance; • It is a web-based database that can be used by both the Government, Development Partners and COSs in managing external resources; • It can be used in planning, tracking and reporting of development assistance flows (General/Sector Budget Support, Basket Funds and Project Funds);

  3. What is AMP… • It is customized to suit Tanzania country needs (MKUKUTA/ MKUZA) clusters and goals and monitoring and evaluation of external resources. • It helps to manage development assistance according to national priorities and measure impact in line with the MKUKUTA/MKUZA and MDGs as well as to support progress toward JAST/Paris Declaration objectives;

Why AMP in Tanzania? • Manage ODA through Budget Process in the context of Joint Assistance Strategy (JAST) • Useful in reporting of donor commitments / projections and actual disbursements • Enhance ‘visibility’ and improves accuracy of ODA to Tanzania hence facilitate new monitoring and reporting needs on JAST and Paris indicators as well as MKUKUTA/MKUZA • Increase donor trust in government systems through an improved data recording and reporting system; • Useful in capturing non-exchequer disbursements and monitor progress toward national development objectives;

Why AMP in Tanzania?... • Reduce duplication of effort and transaction costs associated with data collection and processing; • Standardize reporting terminology among government staff and donors, allowing harmonization of reports to multiple donors; and • Increase transparency and accountability since ODA data are visible and available online to different users;

  6. Status of AMP • AMP system was officially launched on 24th ,August, 2010 and First ODA Report using AMP produced; • 26 Ministries as well as DPs focal point staffs trained on AMP; •  More than 2,500 projects/ programmes in the systems; • Data verification and validation exercise going on; • DPs have access to the system to input project /Programmes; • A Guidance Note has been developed for MDAs and DPs to use and follow the roles and responsibilities of the users in order to ensure the sustainable use of the system.

  7. Way Forward • Updating projects/programmes on monthly basis is ongoing • Continue Producing monthly and annual performance reports • The installation of AMP New version
