  1. The Book of Revelations By. Farukh Sarkulov Tenzin Wozer Alex Gargano

  2. Introduction • The book of revelation was written by a man known as john while on exile on the Greek island of Patmos. • The book is centered around apocalyptic ideas and the triumph of good over evil.

  3. The Plot of Revelation • The book begins with st. john addressing his ideas to 7 churches in Asia (turkey). Then lamb of God opens a scroll with 7 seals on it. Every time a seal is opened a disaster will happen on earth. Then the devil appears on the moon and war breaks out in heaven. Then the beast with a wounded head comes out of the ocean. Then the false prophet comes out of the earth and he convinces many people to worship the beast. Then an angel with great authority destroys Babylon. Then Jesus and his army throw the devil into a pool of fire and sulfur. A new heaven and earth is created because the old ones have passed away. Then Jesus reigns in peace forever.

  4. Characters Characters in the book were symbolic as well as actual people. The hero in the book was the Lamb of God. The Lamb represents Jesus Christ. The Lamb has seven horns and seven eyes that represented the seven spirits of God that sent to the world. The Lamb was slain. The villain in the story is the Dragon. The Dragon is Satan and is defeated in the story and thrown into a lake of fire. The Dragon was red with seven heads and ten horns and on their heads were seven diadems(crowns). The dragon was about to devour a child that was to rule all the nations. The dragon stood ready to eat the child. The woman was giving birth and once she gave birth the child was caught up to God, the mother fled. She fled to a desert where God had prepared a place. She had been taken care of for twelve hundred and sixty days. The angel who had slain the dragon was archangel Michael. Satan also had help, The Beast and False Prophet. The beast had seven heads and ten horns and is associated with the number 666. Another beast known as the false prophet looked like a lamb but spoke like a dragon. He lead the people to worship the first beast. When Jesus opened the first four seals, riders appear on red, white, black, and pale-green horses. They symbolize conquest, war, famine, and death. They cause plaques as they ride around.

  5. The Beasts • The first beast had ten horns, seven heads, and on its horns were ten diadems. It was like a leopard but had the feet of a bear. It’s mouth was the mouth of a lion. The beast had the power of a false prophet and every one on the world followed him. The people said who could beat and the power went to the beast’s head and he boasted that no one could beat him. He yelled at God and waged war against the holy ones ones.

  6. The second beast • The second beast had two horns like a lamb’s but spoke like a dragon but spoke like a dragon. It had the power to control the first beast and made people worship the first beast. He made great signs that made the people believe that it was a meaning and fate. He could make fire come down from heaven to earth. It deceived everyone to kill anyone that didn’t worship the first beast. He gave everyone a stamp on their right hand and had complete control.

  7. Different views of the book of revelation

  8. Traditional view • The traditional view states that John the Apostle wrote the gospel and the letters of John were abandoned on an island called Patmos.

  9. Futurist view • The futurist view is most of predicting the future. • Futurists usually predict the rapture or the resurrection of the dead. They also believe that in a seven year period, world wide martyrdom will occur.
